Avon Lake vs. Sylvania Northview on 9/14/13

The Avon Lake Shoregals traveled West to take on one of the top programs in the Toledo area in Sylvania Northview.  The two teams battled throughout the sunny Fall afternoon and when it was finished the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

The Shoregals had several good opportunities to score with a shot on goal by freshman Olivia Siko and another shot by Siko that deflected off the crossbar. Late in the second half, Ali Robinson hit a hard shot that the Northview goalie was able to block and that was pretty much the last real scoring threat for Avon Lake.

Once again, the defense played a strong game for the second consecutive match and earned its first shutout of the season.  The starting foursome of seniors Emily Peterson and Natalie Quintero along with junior Rada Zunich and freshman Kellie Norris held the LadyKat offense in check.  This group was subbed by junior Esther Killius and sophomores Maggie Moore, & Addy Poole.
