Avon Lake Band Preview is Aug. 27

Admission is free and open to the public.

The annual Avon Lake Band Preview is Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Avon Lake High School's Memorial Stadium.

The Avon Lake High School Marching Shoremen is welcoming the community to the attend the annual Band Preview. Admission is free.

Come to hear traditional game music like the ALHS Alma Mater and Fight Song along with new music for the season. The band is also preparing an exciting show entitled "Birdland," consisting of four productions: Birdland, Blackbird/Yesterday, When Doves Cry, and Free Bird.

This year's marching band is composed of 120 members led on the field by Drum Major Kellen Henry, Senior Field Commander Riley Jantz, and Junior Field Commander Nicole Ziemba.

The band is directed by David Eddleman and the assistant director is Chris Ewald. 

The band leaders, football captains and cheerleading captains are initiating a post-game tradition this year, where all participating groups will sing the ALHS alma after all varsity football games (check back for story later this week).
