The Worst Things About Kids Going Back To School Are...

We all know kids dread the end of summer freedom, pool days and weeknight sleepovers. 

But, apparently, parents dread the first day of school, too.

We asked Avon-Avon Lake Patch's Facebook fans what the worst part about kids heading back to school is, and they had a lot to say!

The most common response was the weather. "They never had a summer. :(" one commenter lamented, while two others agreed: what good is a weeks-long vacation without pool days and melting ice cream cones?

Nearly as common were traffic complaints that come with more buses — and new drivers — on the roads. "Okay, I know this is selfish but it's getting stuck behind school buses and delayed through school zones on my way to work. It means I need to get up and leave at least 1/2 hour earlier."

But there are some parents who fit that age-old stereotype: "Nothing....the sooner the better!" wrote one dad.
