Avon Doctor Earns National Wound Care Professional Award

Roland Reyes, MD, FACS, who maintains a practice in Avon is the recipient of the 2012 Wound Care Professional Award by Healogics Inc., the world’s leading wound care management company. 

Reyes, an Avon Lake resident, is a board certified plastic surgeon with a practice at the EMH Avon Health Campus in addition to treating patients at the EMH Elyria Wound Care Center.

“I am honored to receive this recognition,” Reyes said. “It’s gratifying to me to be able to help patients who had given up on ever healing their wounds. To see my patients get back to living the lifestyles they had been accustomed to prior to their wound is truly a wonderful experience.”

He was chosen to receive the award out of 350 wound care professionals based on his commitment to wound care and quantitative benchmarking and wound healing rates. Reyes also achieved outstanding patient outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including a patient satisfaction rate of more than 98 percent and a 98 percent wound healing rate within 30 median days to heal, among other quality outcomes.
