Avon's Duck Tape Getting Top Billing on 'Project Runway'

Product is inspiration for this season's Unconventional Materials Challenge

Duck Tape® has gone from fix-all to high fashion. On Thursday, March 7, Duck brand duct tape will be featured on the Lifetime series Project Runway during one of the most anticipated moments of every season: the Unconventional Materials Challenge. Inspired by the growing trend of Duck Tape fashions and more, this episode will test the designers’ skills as they transform Duck Tape into chic, runway-worthy styles.

The concept isn't new. For years, the Avon company that manufactures Duck Tape has been holding contests for years. Creative uses of the tape are on display annually at the Duct Tape festival and parade.

During the challenge, designers will team up to create looks that not only illustrate the versatility of Duck Tape and its increasing popularity as a stylish design medium, but that also embrace the vibrant Duck Tape palette that consists of more than 150 colors and prints. All in an effort to catch the eye of judges Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia and Zac Posen.
