Casita Del Lago Offers Full Selection of Mexican Favorites

If you’re looking for authentic Mexican in a cozy restaurant, on Avon Lake’s west end of town is the perfect place for a lunch or dinner stop.

A guest and I recently dined at the restaurant for lunch. Located in the ArtsTown Plaza on Lake Road in the same plaza as and , Casita Del Lago proved a perfect—and affordable—lunch spot that doesn't break the budget.

Guests are greeted with prompt service and complimentary chips and home made salsa to munch on while looking over an extensive menu.

Casita Del Lago’s menu offers an array of meat, chicken and seafood and shrimp dishes including steak ranchero($12.75), chicken carnitas ($11.50) and large shrim and mushroom ($13.25).

Of course, Mexican favorites are plentiful including tacos, fajitas, tostadas and burritos.

My guest and I both ordered from the lunch menu. While our food was being prepared, the server brought us baskets of chips and home made salsa that was perfectly seasoned.

My lunch, two cheese enchiladas was a deal at $6.75. The items were prepared well, fresh and filling.

The large portions came complete with refried beans and rice, guaranteeing that I would need a take-home bag. Other lunch deals at $6.75 include chimichanga, chalupa and burrito platters.

Selecting a lunch (or dinner) item can be tricky, since the restaurant offers plenty of combinations, soups, appetizers and even hamburgers and grilled chicken for those wanting an “All American” meal.

Casita Del Lago offers a full bar and happy hour from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. While we passed on alcohol, the restaurant does specialize in margaritas and sangria to accompany your Mexican meal.

The restaurant offers a fun, casual and festive atmosphere with plenty of TV screens above the bar.
