There will be 20 floats and a 60 groups in the parade, Sack said. Look for Avon Patch and Avon Lake Patch in the parade.

Sack said that Duck brand has three floats in the parade. One features a tailgating scene, another showcases sports mascots. The parade will end with a large 300-pound Duck Tape elephant rolling out the theme for next year’s event which is Safari.

Representatives from ShurTech reached out to Miss America after learning she had a  passion for making clothing out of duct tape.

“We sent her a dozen red, white and blue roses, and a Miss America sash made out of Duct Tape,” said Sack. “At one point she was not available, but we later learned she would be able to come out this weekend."

A meet-and-greet with Scanlan will follow the parade, then she will go on-stage at 1:30 p.m. to show off some her own creations made with duct tape, and share how she uses it in her hobby.

Festival-goers can stop at the arts and crafts tent to make their own pennant, pom poms, megaphones and other sports-themed duct tape creations.

And for those who can’t get enough of Duck Tape, the first 500 visitors each day will receive a free roll.
