Hinkley World Headquarters Settles Into Avon Lake

Company moves 35 employees over from Cleveland

At the end of January, Hinkley Lighting, which has a high-tech corporate distribution facility in Avon Lake, quietly relocated its world operations to Pin Oak Parkway at the end of last month.

The company relocated its offices from Berea Road in Cleveland to Pin Oak Parkway on Jan. 30, a source at the company said.

The source said 35 people moved over from the Cleveland location, consolidating the employees in one location.

Dan Bucci, who is spearheading an effort to increase economic development in the city, said the move was a positive one for the city.

“I think it’s good news to hear they’ve moved more of their employees over and I wish them all the luck in the world,” Bucci said.

In 2007, the company opted to relocated its assembly and distribution center to Avon Lake. The 212,000-square-foot assembly and distribution center was finished in 2009.

The company was founded in 1922 and makes lighting fixtures for retail throughout the United States. The privately held company is a fourth-generation family business owned by the Wiederman family. Rick Wiederman is the president.
