Inclement Weather No Match for 'Sip and Stroll' Festival

Despite being hampered by bustling winds and rain, the annual Olde Avon event went forward as planned.

This year's Sip and Stroll festival took a hit from Mother Nature, but its participants didn't let a few rain drops dampen Saturday's early autumn event at Olde Avon Village.

Jewelers, card makers, artists and chefs were directed indoors and were greeted by folks from around the community who were eager to check out their goods and fare.

"Despite the weather, we were really happy to see the strong turn out, and we were pretty anxious to greet all the people who wanted to check out the event," organizer Genevieve Larson said. "I just want to thank all those who made it out and supported Avon's local businesses."
