Patch Picks: 5 Boutiques

If you're looking for a more intimate, unique shopping experience outside the big box stores, boutique shopping is plentiful in and around Avon. Here is a selection of stores catering to different kinds of shoppers, but this list just scratches the surface.

•  : The first thing you must ask yourself is “Are you sassy?” Make that “R U Sassy?” Because if you’re really sassy, you don’t need to spell it out. Assuming U R, then proceed to this store that sells clothing, purses, jewelry and accessories. You have to check out the unique Onesole shoes. You buy the base shoe, then you buy all the tops you want in different designs and colors to match your outfit or your mood.
•  : This isn’t just shopping. It’s an experience. You can sip tea and sample goodies before you even begin browsing. The 19th-century Lewis House offers something for every room in your house as well as an extensive gift collection, just in case you start feeling guilty about buying only for yourself. You also can shop online, but you’ll have to provide your own tea and goodies.
• : Parents, parents-to-be and the people invited to their baby showers can find what they’re looking for here. Its web site says the store features “the latest, most convenient and innovative products available for the newest member of the family.” And while babies might be the ones using these products, admit it, they’re not the ones you’re buying for. You’re buying for the adults whose “Awwwws” let you know you made just the right selections. 
• : Paying full price is so pre-recession. Consignment and resale are chic now. ReRun offers a fine selection of clothing for women and teens, including many of the same brands found in full-price stores. The second floor provides teens with their own space – and what teenager doesn’t want that?  
•  : Although boutique shopping isn’t on most guys’ must-do lists, Jax offers clothing and accessories for them, too. And if you can’t get your man to actually shop in here, you can have fun shopping for him.
