Rocky River Wine Bar Pairs Quiet Drinks With Good Food

A little off the beaten path, Rocky River Wine Bar is perfect for happy hour, or any hour.

Rocky River Wine Bar, tucked away at 1313 Linda Street, offers a great selection of wines as well as some exceptional dishes to dine on. It's perfect place to visit with a friend, enjoy a drink and grab a bite.

We started by pursuing the wine menu. There as was a nice selection of wines by the glass and bottle. However, I was most excited about the list of wines from the Enomatic system that keeps wines fresh, allowing for smaller pours— especially perfect for someone indecisive, or just wanting a small portion.

I had a taste of an Argentinian white that I quite enjoyed, but was thrilled to have a small bit. We started with soup and salad. I had the soup of the day, tomato bisque, while my friend enjoyed the spinach salad with cherries, goat cheese and pecans.

My friend and I decided to try a few small bites and were both drawn to brie and avocado bruschetta, which was quite good. Two of my favorite flavors came together beautifully in ways I couldn’t have guessed.

We also tried the Drunken Goat Cheese Fondue. The restaurant was kind enough to bring me corn chips with the dip, which we actually decided were better with the fondue than the pita and baguette it came with. A red-wine reduction was a sweet compliment to the flavors.

Next time you need a night way or want to get some friends together for good food and a drink, make sure you put Rocky River Wine Bar on your list. The space is comfortable and smaller rooms create a space that won’t get too loud. A large patio and garage door window make it a great place to enjoy the last bit of nice weather.

Rocky River Wine Bar is open Monday through Saturday for lunch at 11:30 a.m. and at 10 a.m. for brunch on Sundays. They close at midnight Sunday through Thursday and remain open till 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Don’t miss their weekday specials before 7 p.m. or their doggie brunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays when the patio is open.
