In my experience as a Realtor for 34 years, I have assisted families relocate to Avon Lake, OH, and other local cities. Recently, while cleaning out my database I started counting the number of states that are now home to my outgoing referrals. Twenty-two states (in the past 9 years) have Ohio families now calling Illinois, Connecticut, Texas, California, Arizona (to name a few) home! We live in a "moving society".
Of course, the most common moves are local or within the state by nature. In 2012 nearly 60,000 New Yorkers moved to Florida, nearly 100,000 Californians to Arizona or Texas. More people are moving out of metropolitan areas and into the suburbs. Studies, of course, show the most mobile age group are the 18 to 29 year olds. Why is this worth mentioning?
