Avon: Trash Pickup is This Saturday and Sunday

No recyclables, please.

The city of Avon said at 4 p.m. on April 19 that Republic/Allied Services will be picking up trash on Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21.

Residents should put out their blue trash containers. Recyclables will not be collected.

Trash pickup has been delayed to all Republic/Allied Services customers in Ohio and three other states this past week after local sanitation workers went on strike again "in sympathy" with striking Youngstown Republic workers. Earlier this week, a Republic representative said non-union, out-of-state workers would be driving sanitation trucks this week to pick up trash.
