Deer Vs. Car Problem Is Not Going Away: Letter

To the Editor:

Thanks for the recent meeting with an Avon Lake deer.  

I recently met with one, but unlike my insurance company had to cough up $5,500 and I was on the hook for $500.  

Local government talks about not having enough money to do anything about the deer problem, but if you took an average between what it cost to repair the cruiser and what it cost to fix my Focus, local citizens have paid out $63,000 just this year on the city's highways.  

I realize the state has a large role in this matter, but I plan to continue urging the city to do all it can to reduce the problem. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT'S NOT GOING AWAY!
