Detroit Road between Moon Road and Long Road was closed briefly after a gas service line break late Monday morning.
According to the city, repair work was being done on a water line when the gas service line, which was about 3 feet away from the water line, was struck.

Columbia Gas was called in. Jerry Plas, director of services/streets/utilities for the city, said Columbia gas responded within 15 minutes. Flaggers were brought out to direct traffic.
