Heat Advisory for Friday

Temperatures to be in the 90s

The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a heat advisory for most of northeast Ohio through 9 p.m. Friday.

Temperatures are forecast to go into the low 90s on Friday, with a chance of 30 percent chance of rain or thunderstorms.

While it's a smidge cooler than Thursday, the heat index is expected to go above 100 to close to 105 degrees. The heat index is how hot it really feels when the temperature is combined with relative humidity.

Be alert to signs of heat exhaustion, such as heavy sweating, muscle cramps, fatigue, nausea or vomiting. Symptoms of the more dangerous heat stroke include a rapid and strong pulse, red and dry skin with no sweat, dizziness, confusion, nausea and headache.

And, as one Avon grandmother learned on Wednesday, do not leave children .
