High Wind Warning Through 10 a.m. Saturday

Batten down the hatches!

So much for the lamb.

The wind will be doing a lion-esque roar Friday into Saturday. The National Weather Service has issues a high wind warning through 10 a.m. Saturday.

A strong low pressure system will go from Michigan into Ontario Friday night, with a cold front associated with the system moving across our area overnight.

Winds from the south and southeast could gust as high as 50 miles an hour ahead of the front. Stronger winds from the southwest are possible after the front passes through.

With these winds, there is the potential for downed tree limbs and power lines. If you drive a high-profile vehicle, like a truck or SUV, use extra care in this weather.

There is also the chance for thunderstorms Friday evening. Temperatures will drop to the mid-30s overnight.

More seasonable weather returns over the weekend as Saturday will be cloudy and windy with a high of 41 degrees. Snow flurries and showers move into the area for Saturday night through Monday.
