Affirmative action is not America

In 2013, Affirmative Action is an embarrassment. Americans deserve better than thinking some are “less” and require “more” help to be equal. As a woman, it is offensive. It’s 2013, and America has not found a qualified woman to be US President. I am not concerned; someday, someone, who happens to be a woman, will be qualified to lead our nation.

The idea of voting for a person because she is a woman, of color, or any other superficiality is an outrageous thought. A doctor, who fills a quota over qualifications, is more than scary.

Affirmative action, quotas and any extra edge over others needs to be erased from America now. If ever an edge over others needs to be, it is to the soldier who defends our freedom.

America is a land of opportunity. Immigrants know this. They come to America, legally, learn our language, work, save and succeed.

Americans, who have never been to the countries which they boast their roots, continue to define themselves beyond America. It needs to change. We are Americans united without the divide of Affirmative action.

Qualifications, experience, work ethic, honesty, ideas, and leadership—are a few requirements to hire or elect-- rather than Affirmative action.

Affirmative action does have consequences. Someday, America will experience the results of Affirmative action. Perhaps a President of the United States, or a doctor --without the qualifications or experience—will rise to the top because of Affirmative action. It truly will be a disaster.
