Obama’s record of hope, change, transparency
Changing the subject puts the focus on something else, and it makes it easier for government to stray. The important conversations like the economy, the jobless rates, taxes, foreclosures, entitlements, crime are put aside and replaced with these diversions. Yet, the record of those elected must be the focus. America needs to pay attention and look at this President’s record.
It appears that changing the subject takes the public’s eye from what politicians are supposed to be doing. The bleeding hearts come out of the woodwork for these diversions. Tents are pitched and the insanity begins. A recent push by New York’s Mayor Michael Bloomberg to limit the Big Gulp 64 ounce carbonated beverage made headlines, but New York‘s high taxes, crime and unemployment didn‘t. The diversion was huge. Now, Bloomberg’s telling women to breastfeed. Seriously, baby formula will be locked in hospitals cabinets like morphine and other drugs effective September 3. Rest easy, as in New York, women will be breastfeeding more and all New Yorkers drinking pop less. Yet, New York City ranked highest for drug-related property crime and ranked in the top 10 states for unemployment in June.
In Chicago, chicken made news; more so than the government’s job to find jobs, protect its citizens, and cut taxes.. Chicago’s murder rate is up 38 percent; 259 murders so far this year. Recently, when a seven-year-old girl was killed, shot in the crossfire, Chicago’s Mayor Rahm Emanuel had a message for the gangs, he told her family and anyone who’d listen that “ it’s not about crime, it’s about values.” What!? Now, Mayor Emanuel is telling business to get lost and citizens to quit eating chicken. Yes, Emanuel with a straight face told Chick-fil-A that this business does not share “Chicago’s values.“ I say, “Thank God.” This Mayor also begged thugs not to kill children in Chicago because, as he whimpered, “children are the future.” What? Crime in Chicago is beyond Al Capone, yet citizens should stop eating chicken? The Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy's recent interview comment stating that he does not support gay marriage is his opinion. With a 38 percent increase in crime, Chicago’s Mayor should direct his attention to safety, promoting businesses, and reducing taxes rather than chicken sandwiches.
This Saturday, New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, who has mayoral aspirations, sent a letter to New York University’s President asking that the school immediately end their contract with Chick-fil-A. "I write as the Speaker of the NYC Council, and on behalf of my family. NYC is a place where we celebrate diversity. We do not believe in denigrating others. We revel in the diversity of all our citizens and their families,” her letter begins. Another politician not working to provide security, reduce tax and spend and increase business and employment.
Diversions take the focus off what elected officials promised, but failed. The whining, blaming, attacks make for great headlines, but a candidate’s record is most important. The record of this U.S. President is most important and must remain the only topic.
President Obama’s race--he has a mother who is Caucasian and a black father , his preacher’s hate America speeches, his autobiography touting his drug use, birth certificate, education, friends like cop killer Bill Ayers might be the fringe of who he is, but not his record as President. Has President Obama kept his promises of hope, change and transparency?
As this historic Presidential campaign continues, America must move beyond Democrat and Republican political parties, baby hugging, and movie star endorsements. What about Obamacare, now called Affordable Health Care, a program crafted at whose expense? Will America want to be part of the portion regarding abortions?
What about bringing America together? His words condemn the rich and work to continue to victimize the poor. He has provoked anger and envy on those who make more than $250,000, but he himself is a millionaire. Rather than uplift and encourage, Obama is the divider.
Has he kept America safe?-- illegal aliens, gun running of Fast and Furious, security leaks, and apologies for America.
What about business? This President appears to be more socialist than capitalist. He continue to profess that America needs government; food stamps, welfare, unemployment, and so many entitlements from government--paid by taxpayers. He has no clue beyond the confines of his government job; paid for by taxpayers--corporate jet, vacations, golf, food and lodging.
Mr. President, the private innovative genius of business built America, not government. The Internet was built not by government, but in spite of government. Mr. Obama how dare you speak to business and finger point to business and tell them that “you didn’t build it.” For the record, Mr. Obama YOU ARE OUT OF TOUCH with the private sector and business. The private sector is not fine. You have never owned or operated a business to understand the hard work and sacrifice. For the record, business hires workers, pays taxes, and builds America. Workers are hired by a business to work to produce a good or service. If this economy collapses, who will support government? Government takes and spends; it does NOT provide income.
Voting in 2012 to get America back on track might mean separating ourselves from fluff and diversions. America gave this President a chance to do his job, but he has failed. America cannot afford four more years of Barrack. He must be fired; voted out. It’s time that America looks at the record and accomplishments of Mitt Romney and vote Romney for President in 2012. For the record, Mitt Romney has my vote for President.
Lots of zeros
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKjPI6no5ng It sure wasn't Obama, nor the Democrat Party. You want Socialism vote for Obama.
I am sure you are a nice person and mean well. There isn’t one fact that you can back up. If you really knew what you were saying you would be embarrassed. But you don’t, you are caught in conservative mind set. Conservatives on the whole have a lower IQ then Liberals (Psychology Today 8/24/11). In two studies (NYCC and UC Berkley) conservatives: make quick decisions and stick to it regardless of facts, conservatives have limited ability to grasp ambiguity and can’t reconcile ambiguities. Conservatives lack intellectual curiosity. In the famous paragraph-test of W’s and M’s conservatives display less brain activity and make more mistakes than liberals. Liberals deal with conflicts 4.9 times better than conservatives and are 2.2 times better in accuracy.
so on the basis of these two studies you can now stereotype all Conservatives as dumb? How prejudicial is that? Please, do tell us, oh kind and intelligent sir, what facts are not backed up in the article?
You all have just proved my point. You don’t have either the ability or the compunction to go to a source for your rebuttal. You are limited by name calling, truth twisting and propaganda sourcing as proof to refute a scientific report. Go to the report and then the scientific follow up reports to get the real picture. I am however; sadly convinced you would not understand them. From all your blogs not once have you sourced an academic study. At best you are good at shooting the messenger. That is cowardly. Find a study by an accredited A rated university done over several months using The Statistical Methods formula, as I do, to counter my posits. Then we can have an adult conversation. Oh yes to the same point. Those accusations about Obama; go to what he really said. The Conservatives had to delete part of his speeches to make their point. Which of course, their point like Kathleen’s, are lies.
"By leaving out the "individual initiative" reference, Romney and his supporters have misled viewers and given a false impression. For that, we rate the claim False." http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2012/jul/26/mitt-romney/putting-mitt-romneys-attacks-you-didnt-build-truth/ "by focusing on one ill-phrased sentence, Romney and his campaign have decided to pretend that Obama is talking about something different — and then further extrapolated it so that it becomes ridiculous. That’s not very original at all." http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/post/an-unoriginal-obama-quote-taken-out-of-context/2012/07/20/gJQAdG7hyW_blog.html http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker "That was not Obama's point when he spoke in Virginia on July 13 about the government's supportive role in providing a stable environment in which businesses can thrive." http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_OBAMA_ROMNEY_BUILDING_THAT?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT
10:01 pm on Thursday, August 2, 2012 Kieth A Dewey ...you just stuck your foot in your mouth the person you are quoting about "Conservatives on the whole have a lower IQ then Liberals" was written by Satoshi Kanazawa who also wrote an article Claiming Black Women Are Less Attractive not to mention these gems ..... http://jezebel.com/5786394/the-illustrious-career-of-a-crap-psychologist
It's not that the President is being "inartfull" or deceptive, the Progessive Democrat Message is being fully, and truthfully articulated by the President and Democrat Elected officials; and it is being rejected.
Of course, you've already made up your mind, so... why bother, right?
Nice...
I'm sorry, was he being dishonest about this little factoid?
You make no mention of Osama Bin Laden. Do you remember Bush's take on Bin Laden? I'm sure you do. Who could forget? He went from: "The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him." George W Bush Sept. 13, 2001 To: "I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority." - George W Bush March 13, 2002 Way to keep America safe, George! Plus, 9/11 had us all feeling pretty safe, right? All on Bush's watch. Go Mitt?
Lets just keep up the bickering about our sports teams. Or are they political teams? Always the win/lose mentality rather than "we're all in this together" (and we are, you know). Us versus them. No need to comprimise, meet half way or walk a mile in anyone elses shoes. Just win and silence all who disagree with you. Feels like the American spirit to me. :(
Historically, all those roads and infrastructure (including plumbing and commerce) that the Romans abandoned after 400 years in England in 410 AD, did not provide for the success of any 'dark ages' citizen of Britain. I am sure the USSR had roads, etc., prior to its fall....very few of their citizens individually flourished from 1917 forward as a result of what the 'government' or an inspiring teacher provided. At worst...it revealed a tad of Obama's personal ideology, at best it was a real blooper.
√ ended the Iraq War √ killed Bin Laden and other key Al Qaeda leaders √ (is) winding down the Afghanistan War √ Added 4.5 million jobs (twice the number G.W. Bush created in 8 years) √ 29 months of continued job growth in the private sector (G.W. Bush averaged 65K jobs/month) √ Passed the Affordable Care Act √ Ended Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy √ Saved the auto industry and with it the supply chain businesses dependent on it (and the economies of several Midwest states, along with it) √ Payroll tax cuts for middle income wage earners ($200K and less) √ 18 different tax breaks for small businesses √ 10 % unemployment reduced to 8.3% (7.2% in Ohio) … all of these accomplishments have been achieved despite a strong and coordinated Republican offense that has deliberately worked against him to "make him a one term President" (Mitch McConnell quote), blocking legislation at every turn - legislation that is designed to strengthen our economy. (con't)
Half the game is still to be played and there is so much left to do. In 2008, at the depth of the recession, economists predicted it would take 10 years to work our way out of the deep abyss we were in. We are now 3 ½ years into that work. Given his accomplishments so far, I choose to support a President who has worked this hard to achieve this much, on behalf of all Americans, in spite of those who seek to cause him to fail. I choose not to reward the actions of those who prefer regaining power to restoring the economy. History is very clear about which policies drive the economy, they are policies that empower the engine of the economy, the middle class – President Obama’s policies. ( interesting that it often comes as a surprise to people who earn $100 -200 K that they are actually part of the middle class). President Obama deserves to finish the game… that is why I will continue to campaign, contribute money and vote for him.
And John Edwards hates the National Inquirer too.
Why has job creation in America slowed to a crawl? Why, after several months of economic hope, are things suddenly turning sour? The culprits might seem obvious – uncertainty in Europe, an uneven economic recovery, fiscal and monetary policymakers immobilized and incapable of acting. But increasingly, Democrats are making the argument that the real culprit for the country's economic woes lies in a more discrete location: with the Republican Party. In recent days, Democrats have started coming out and saying publicly what many have been mumbling privately for years – Republicans are so intent on defeating President Obama for re-election that they are purposely sabotaging the country's economic recovery. These charges are now being levied by Democrats such as Senate majority leader Harry Reid and Obama's key political adviser, David Axelrod. For Democrats, perhaps the most obvious piece of evidence of GOP premeditated malice is the 2010 quote from Senate minority leader, Mitch McConnell: "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president." Such words lead some to the conclusion that Republicans will do anything, including short-circuiting the economy, in order to hurt Obama politically.
