9-11: Where Were You When it Happened?

Share your story of how you remember Sept. 11, 2001.

By Mitch Cooper

For those who remember Sept. 11, 2001, arguably the most tragic day in American history, it's easy to remember the details of your life during that event.

Like many who still remember exactly what they were doing when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, the image of the scene is burned the memories of most.

I will never forget sitting in my eighth-grade home mechanics class during second period. Our teacher rushed out of the room after a quick, secret conversation with another teacher.

Minutes later he returned, telling us that a plan had flown into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. He then told us he had to leave, as his daughter was in the area during the attack.

The rest of the day we watched the TV broadcasts, finding out more and more about the unbelievable events. Those images are some that I may never forget.
