Photo Gallery: Drum Corp International Takes to the Football Field

Drum Corp International's top units perform prior to Worlds, at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Just prior to the Drum Corps International World championships, five of the top twelve teams in the world performed as part of the Professional Football Hall of fame festival.

Photojournalist Noel Latham shares some of her photos that she caught during their acts, which are prepared by the corps and last approximately 8-12 minutes. The bands repertoires varied in nature and each were at their peak performance before the world competition.

These competitive corps spend 8-10 weeks out of the year on tour, practicing almost every day.

The Cadets from Allentown, Pennsylvania last years world champs, barely edged the Phantom regiment out of Rockford Illinois. They were part of the DCI, which also saw seven bands perform at Avon Lake Hhigh School, although the ones at Paul Brown Stadium, were the ones expected to compete for the top level crown.

The Academy from Tempe, AZ; Blue Knights from Denver, CO; Boston Crusaders from Boston, MA; The Cadets from Allentown, PA; Pacific Crest from Diamond Bar, CA; Phantom Regiment from Rockford, IL; and Pioneer from Milwaukee, WI. all performed in the event.

This is the 40th year for the Drum Corp International, which is more than a marching band, a taste of Broadway on a football field.

Thank you for bringing DCI to the public eye! Drum Corps is truly a spectacle and I wish more people could know about it.
