Aliyah Jean Ramsey, 7, Student at Avon East Elementary

Services are today, Jan. 9 and Jan. 10

Aliyah Jean Ramsey, 7, treasured daughter and granddaughter was called home to heaven Jan. 4, 2013 following sudden and overwhelming health complications created by an undiagnosed case of juvenile diabetes.

Aliyah was born March 1, 2005 in Bowling Green, Ohio and was residing with her mother and her fiancé in Avon, attending Avon East Elementary School.

A care free spirit, Aliyah loved the creative aspects of life; music, dance and pretending were part of her daily joys. Her life was characterized by generosity, always thinking of ways to bless others out of the abundance of her own life.

She had recently joined the Avon Girl Scouts, troop #50796.

Her greatest joy was found in the arms of her mother, reading books at bed time and enjoying the wonders found in the stories they shared.

Aliyah leaves to treasure her memory; her mother Heather Robinson and her fiancee Shawn Mooney of Avon, father Justin Ramsey of Ohio, maternal grandparents, Rev. Chris and wife Cathy Robinson of Amherst and Donna and husband Bill Deffenbaugh of Bowling Green; paternal grandmother, Carol Rothenbuler of Ohio; as well as a half brother and half sister.

Aliyah's family will receive friends Wednesday, Jan. 9 from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.  and 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Jim Peter and Rev. Jon Paulus, as well as Aliyah's grandfather Rev. Chris Robinson will provide pastoral care.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Aliyah Ramsey Memorial Fund at any Chase Bank or directly to the family.
