Ann M. Songer, Volunteer at The Gathering Place

Ann M. Songer (nee Pintenich), 83 of Avon formerly of Wickliffe, passed away at Brighton Gardens in Westlake on Dec. 21, 2012 following a lengthy illness. Ann was born in Cleveland on Aug. 13, 1929.

 She graduated from Fenn College (now Cleveland State University) with a degree in Social Work. She worked for the government as a social worker, Worden Elementary School as a playground guard], and was a homemaker. Ann was active with the United Way, Wickliffe Band Boosters, Avon Senior Center, and The Gathering Place, a cancer support group in Westlake.

Ann is survived by her children Chris Songer of North Ridgeville and Greg Songer (Cindy) of North Royalton; her grandchildren Alicia and Simone. She is preceded in death by her husband William, brother Ben Pintenich, sister Louise Ernst, and parents Mike and Anna (nee Slovensky) Pintenich.

Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Road, Avon from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 28. Service at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Internment at Lakewood Park Cemetery.
