Anna A. Parks, Member of St. Joseph Church

Services are Monday

Anna A. Parks (nee Osterman), 97 of Avon Lake formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 at home following complications of congestive heart failure.  

Mrs. Parks was born Feb. 13, 1916 in Pittsburgh and had lived in Avon Lake the past 57 years. She was both a licensed cosmetologist and licensed practical nurse but her primary role was that of homemaker. 

Anna was a member of St. Joseph Church, the church’s choir and ladies guild.  She was also a member of the Avon Lake Women’s Chorus.  In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, golf and travel.  She also would express her creativity by painting.

Anna is survived by children Ruth Ann Kaswell of San Antonio TX, Eileen Wozniak (Donald) of Avon Lake, George Parks, Jr. (Sandra – dec.) of Milan, MI, Janet Motta of Avon Lake and Nancy Inman of Mentor.  Other survivors include 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband George C. Parks in 1994, parents Edward and Anna (nee Harold) Osterman, siblings Edward, Herb, Mildred Lowe and Virginia Smarsh and two grandsons. 

Friends may for call from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Rd., Avon Lake, Monday, Sept.  30 at 11 a.m.  Fr. Ron Wearsch of the church will officiate.  Interment will follow at CalvaryCemeteryLorain.  Memorial contributions may be forwarded to Smile for Sophie Forever, 31722 Leeward Ct  Avon LakeOH 44012.
