Cecelia M. Lufter (nee Konop), 90

Member of various garden clubs

Cecelia M. Lufter (nee Konop), 90, of Avon Lake, passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012 at the Main Street Care Center.

She was born Sept. 24, 1921 to Matt and Jennie Konop in Franklin Township, WI. Cecelia graduated from Kewaunee, Wisconsin High School in 1940 and married Carl Lufter May 12, 1943. They were blessed with three children, Carl, Linda and Mary.

She was a loving mother and wife to her husband of 68 years. Lufter was accomplished at and loved flower arranging.

She was a member and served as president of three garden clubs at various times that were located in Avon Lake, Brecksville and Venice, FL.

She enjoyed cooking, entertaining groups, playing various card games, golfing and playing tennis.

She is survived by her husband Carl, children Carl Lufter (Dolores) of Avon Lake; Linda Morgan (James) of Roswell, GA; and Mary McKinley (Mike) of Avon Lake; grandchildren Victoria Langford, Matthew Lufter, Valerie Robinson, Michelle Nieding and Michael McKinley; and great-grandchildren Andrew Nieding, Brandon Nieding, Grace Langford and Kyli Robinson; and a sister Vi Tess of Green Bay, WI. Cecelia is preceded in death by three brothers.

Friends may call at the 163 Avon Belden Rd., Avon Lake from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4 with a 7:30 p.m. rosary service. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5 at , 410 Lear Rd, Avon Lake with Father James Beatty presiding. Private entombment will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
