Christine Anne Serra, Active Avon Lake Schools Volunteer: Obituary

Avon Lake resident Christine Anne Serra (nee Terse), 42, passed away May 25, 2013.

An active volunteer in Avon Lake Schools and the mother of two boys Evan and Nicholas with her husband Wayne Serra, Christine Serra studied at Miami University and the University of Akron, earning her M.B.A. at the latter. She was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority at Miami. She consulted for Mercer and Towers Watson, and before that, worked in human resources for the city of Canton.

Christine Serra was born June 29, 1970.

She is survived by her husband and sons; her parents, Diane and Louis Terse; her siblings Jennifer Serentelos (husband Theodore and children Ava and Nicholas); Nicholas Terse (wife Mary Kay and children Nora and Mia); and Erin Petkash (husband Michael and children Jack, Clare, and Joseph).

Visiting hours will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 30 at Busch Funeral Home, 32000 Detroit Road, Avon.

Prayers will be held on Friday, May 31 at 9:15 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 410 Lear Road, Avon Lake. 

Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, 32789 Detroit Road, Avon, Ohio 44011. In lieu of flowers, donations in Christine's name can be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) (http://www.themmrf.org or phone (203) 229-0464).
