Dolores Babyak of Avon

Leaves behind relatives in Avon

Dolores Babyak (nee Gorni) of Avon, passed away peacefully in her sleep after a brief illness on Dec. 23, 2012. She was born in Bridgeville, PA and later lived in Burgettstown, PA, where she graduated from high school. Dolores then moved to Cleveland with her family where she met Harry Babyak. The couple married in 1943.

Dolores worked for General Electric and White Motors from where she eventually retired as a secretary. She was a longtime active member of Holy Trinity Parish and their Ladies Guild, she enjoyed gardening, exercising and baking and was known to have made the best lemon meringue pie.

Dolores will be remembered as the loving mother of Penelope "Penny" White and aunt of David (Annette) Selestak, all of Avon, and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Harry, her mother Mary Rodriguez, her sister Pam Selestak and her nephew Paul Selestak.

A memorial service will be held to honor Dolores 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4 at Holy Trinity Church 33601 Detroit Rd. Avon. Inurnment will be at Resthaven Memory Garden in Avon.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Delores's name to the Salvation Army Northeast Ohio Division in Elyria, 716 Broad St. Elyria, OH 44035 .
