Doris Mae Swanson, Member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church

Doris Mae Swanson (nee Lundberg), 91, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Avon. She was born on Feb. 11, 1921.

Mrs. Swanson was born in Canton, Ohio, but spent her adult life in Avon Lake. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening; and was a member of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Avon Lake and the Swedish Vasa Club of Vermilion.

Mrs. Swanson was a homemaker and made a cozy home for her beloved husband, the late Floyd, and their family.

She is survived by her two daughters; Sandra Phillips and her husband, Darrell of Avon Lake, and Nancy A. Vaughn and her husband, Charles of Port Charlotte, FL; her beloved grandchildren, Charles R. Vaughn and his wife, Tammy, and Vicki L. Donza and her husband, Scott; and her wonderful great-grandchildren, Kayley, Cassidy, Kenny, Sera and Vivian.

She is also survived by her brother, Donald Lundberg and his wife, Millie, of Lorain; and her sister's-in-law, Betty and Arlene Lundberg.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Floyd Swanson; her parents, Henry and Irene (nee Goodyear) Lundberg; her siblings, Roy and Robert Lundberg, and Carol McClung.

Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon Belden Rd., Avon Lake, Friday, Jan. 4 from 11 a..m. to 1 p.m.; with a 1 p.m. service to be held at the funeral home,officiated by, Rev. Jeff Steeber, of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Avon Lake. Interment to follow at Elmhurst Cemetery, Avon.
