James Miller, 53, of Avon Lake

Retired North Olmsted firefighter and paramedic.

James W. Miller, 53 of Avon Lake, passed away on May 8, 2013. He was born Oct. 5, 1959 in Cheshire, CT.

Jim graduated from Rocky River High School in 1977. He was a retired North Olmsted firefighter and paramedic for 25 years. Jim was a member of the Cleveland Yachting Club. He loved to just relax on his boat, "Miller Time" with his dog Binky.

His survivors include his wife, Eva (nee Smith); children, Jenna and Brandon; siblings, William (Ann), Margaret Kunsman (Jim), Vernon L. III (Donna), Mary K. (George Benore), David, Jeanne Thompson (Ken). Jim was a brother in law of Gary Smith (Dawn), Jerry Smith (Cathie), Becky Johnston (Tom), Mary Jo Cannistra (Steve), Chesley Gilliam (David), and Garland Smith (Alicia); and a loving uncle and friend of many.

Friends may call at the Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon-Belden Road, Avon Lake from 3-8pm on Monday, May 13. Mass of Christian Burial at 32929 Lake Road, Avon Lake, Tuesday, May 14, at 10am. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
