Robert (Bob) Haverback, Longtime Avon Lake Resident: Obituary

Spent 3 years in advertising. Husband of Erma, father of Robert and David.

Robert (Bob) Haverback, 85 of Avon Lake passed away on May 22, 2013.

Bob was born in Hartford, Conn. to Allen and Betty Haverback on Nov. 5, 1927.

After serving for two years in the US Navy, he graduated from Syracuse University in 1952 where he was the editor of the university humor magazine.

Upon graduating he embarked upon a 35-year career in the advertising industry serving first as a copywriter and later as both a creative director and senior vice president account director. During his career he worked for several agencies such as Wyse Adverting, McCann Erickson and J Walter Thompson of which he retired from in 1993. 

Bob was a member of the Avon Lake Kiwanis Club. During his 40 years as an Avon Lake resident Bob proudly served on The Avon Lake Cable Advisory Commission and The Avon Lake Library Board.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Erma Haverback (nee Morse), son Robert Haverback and son David Haverback. 

The family will receive friends Friday, May 31 from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the Busch Funeral Home in Avon Lake.
