Walter J. "Bud" Kennedy, WWII Veteran, Avon Lake Kiwanian

Services held Friday, Aug. 9 for 32nd-degree Mason

Walter J. "Bud" Kennedy, 93 of Avon Lake, died Aug. 6, Busch Funeral & Crematory Services reports.

The World War II-era Army Air Corps Technical Sergeant ran Dairy Queen restaurants in Cleveland and Avon Lake for nearly 40 years. He was a member of the Avon Lake Kiwanis, a 32nd Degree Mason at Valley of Cleveland, was a member of the Royal Palm Country Club in Naples, Fla., and attended the Westlake United Methodist Church. 

Kennedy was called a hard worker in his Busch obituary, and he enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, the Cleveland Indians and winters in Florida.

Services held Friday, Aug. 9 at 2 p.m. at the Busch Funeral Home in Avon Lake followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Park, N. Olmsted. In lieu of flowers memorials may be forwarded to Crossroads Hospice, 9775 Rockside Road, Suite 270, Valley View, OH 44125 or the Westlake United Methodist Church, 27650 Center Ridge Road, Westlake, OH 44145.
