William M. Sherman, Church of Open Door and Al Koran Shrine Member: Obituary

Sherman died after a lengthy illness at his home

William Marion Sherman, 75, of Avon Lake, died July 28, Busch Funeral & Crematory Services reports.

Sherman was an Army Reservist and then a truck driver for 40 years. He was a member of the Church of the Open Door, the Al Koran Shrine, the Al Koran Mariners, Valley of Cleveland, Lorain County Scottish Rite Society and the Seneca Lodge #0790.

Sherman enjoyed working in his shop, family gatherings and traveling. 

He was the husband of Barbara (nee Wanstroth); beloved father of John Allen, Robert Eugene, William M. Jr. (Brooke), and Beth Ann (deceased); grandfather of Bryce; son of the late Hazel and Carl Sherman; brother of Charles (deceased), Gerald (Dorothea), Ronald, Walter, Laura Jean Ritterman, Melba Lucius (Vince), Karen Schubach (Tom), and Rick Sherman.

Calling hours Wednesday, July 31 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Busch Funeral Home in Avon Lake. A Masonic Service follows. Graveside service at 11 a.m. Aug. 1 at Oakland Cemetary, 2917 Milan Road in Sandusky.
