11-Year-Old Shot Under Eye With Air Gun

Juveniles allegedly destroy gun.

An air gun can damage. And that’s what it did to an 11-year-old boy on Sept. 8.  The boy was running to a friend’s house when who ran by 3 other boys on Conrad Street, who told him to “keep running” and allegedly shot him just below his left eye.

The skin under the eye was broken and the area bruised.

When the mother went to one of the juveniles she believed was involved, she said they did not seem to care about what had happened.

One of the juveniles admitted to police it was his gun and another boy had shot the victim in the face. They also said the gun was destroyed.

intended to follow up with the shooter this week.

violence starts somewhere. If they are not reprimanded now, when do you reprimand your kids? After they have gotten a hold of a real gun and brings it to school? Really? Parents need to start reprimanding their kids. Kids have it so easy these days.

story should of also included the fact the boys with the guns were shooting at homes under construction on the street...per police report.... but these are good kids?!?! also, did any parent bother to see of the kids was alright. it is sad that parents do not punish their kids. that is why the world is the way it is. if it were my son that got hit in the eye i would press charges just so the punks and their parents would take responsibility for their kids.

As a former soldier, respect for firearms started with pellet guns in my day and maybe airsoft guns today. If we dont show respect early on that leads to greater trouble later (I always learned more from my mistakes). As I grew up and got into situations like this (not a bad kid - a stupid kid, that eventually learned) I was convinced that my parents worked with the police to give me the scare I needed to set me straight. As parents we could do that together versus to be on opposite sides. Thank goodness there was no lasting damage to those kids either by the one shot or those inflicted by the shooter. For those that have been behind the sights - you know what I mean as that lasts forever.
