3,500 Power Outages Reported in Avon Lake, Part of SR 83 Closed

Storms causing problems for FirstEnergy

Storms rolling through Northeast Ohio have brought rain, winds, hail and power outages in Lorain County.

Nearly 3,500 FirstEnergy customers in Avon Lake are without power at 4:38 p.m., the company's website reports.

A fallen wire on SR 83 has resulted in the road being closed between Walker Road and Redwood Boulevard. Police have the road blocked and said the power company has been notified. 

Residents on the Avon-Avon Lake Facebook page are currently reporting power outages on Vinewood, East of 83 on Redwood, North Inwood,  South Inwood, Ashwood,
