5 Things: Garage Sales, A Car Show and Police vs. Fire

Looking for something to do today? Here's a few suggestions to take you from morning through night.

• Safety Forces battle it out. The Avon and fire departments team up to take on Avon Lake's and departments in a at All Pro Freight Stadium at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 23. Tickets are  available at the Avon and Avon Lake police and fire departments. All seats are $5, and kids under 15 get in for free. Money raised will go to the Fairview Hospital Breast Health Center and the Gathering Place.
• Looking for a bargain? Check out these garage sales. A two-day sale at 5435 E Lake Rd. in Sheffield Lake benefits the Avon Lake Kiwanis Club and has a little something for everyone.  Sale is from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• More deals… The second day of this multi-family garage sale at 250 and 260 Vinewood Dr. in Avon Lake  features household items, children and adult clothing,toys, baby items and much more. Sale runs from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• Feeling classic? If you own  a classic car, or just like to look at them, head over to Tucky’s in Avon Lake at 377 Lear Rd, Avon Lake from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. today, July 23 for a Cruise-In. Weather permitting. Admission is free, there is no registration cost and all makes/models/years are welcome.  Prize drawings every 30 minutes.
• Give a little bit…of blood at the Old Community Fire House today. A blood drive benefits Life Share. Restriction apply. The center is located at 100 Avon Belden Rd. Check Life Share’s website for details.
