A North Royalton man was taken to St. John West Shore Hospital after colliding with a car on Lake Road July 3. Paul Gigliotti was in the bike lane heading east when the driver of a Sonata, who did not see initially see Gigliotti, began turning left into Beach Park Tower and stopped abruptly to avoid hitting him. Gigliotti, seeing the Sonata, also stopped abruptly, flipping over his bike. According to a police report, both the biker and bike struck the Sonata.

Witnesses said Gigliotti, who was wearing a bike helmet,  was hidden by another vehicle on Lake Road that had stopped to turn. No citations were issued in the incident. A woman assisting with ArtsFest, which was setting up across the street in Miller Road Park, attended to Gigliotti until paramedics arrived.
