Avon Man Facing DUI Charges
The following arrest information was provided by the Avon Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
An Avon man was charged with DUI in Avon Commons on Thursday afternoon.
Craig Esper, 60, went into a little after 3 p.m. and ordered a beer, a caller told Avon Police. When staff brought Esper his beer, the caller said, he insisted that he didn’t order it and wanted lunch. He then left the restaurant.
Police pulled over Esper on the road heading towards the west exit of Avon Commons, between and . An ambulance was also at the scene. Esper was given a field sobriety test and was then taken into custody.

Traffic was slowed going in and out of the Avon Commons west entrance as outgoing traffic had to maneuver around Esper’s car. It was towed from the scene less than 10 minutes after police left with Esper.
