Camera Pen Voyeur Found Guilty, Sentenced to 150 Days in Jail

Mucha was charged in August with three misdemeanor counts of voyeurism following an investigation by that began last March.

At that time, Avon Lake police got a report from an employee at Catania Medallic, that a pen camera had been found in the women’s restroom. Images of three female employees using the restroom were found on the camera.

Police were able to determine ownership of the pen camera, and search warrants were executed on Mucha’s home. Various electronic devices were obtained in the search.

Forensic analysis of the electronic devices revealed video of three separate females using the restroom and video of the suspect apparently adjusting the view of the pen camera within the women’s restroom.

When police searched Mucha’s home at 32540 Electric Blvd. They found a small amount of cocaine. He was then charged with possession of drugs, a fifth-degree misdemeanor. That charge was dropped Dec. 20, but one charge of attempted possession of drugs, a misdemeanor, was filed Dec. 20. Mucha pleaded no contest to all the charges in court and was found guilty on the four charges.

Municipal Judge Darrel Bilancini said the sentence was for 90 days on the voyeurism count that included nudity and 30 days on each of the other 2 counts that did not.

"He will serve a total of 150 days in the county jail," Bilancini said. "His fines were $500 on each of the four counts, totaling $2,000 plus costs. He was placed on intensive probation for one year and will be assessed for drug abuse." The court awarded Mucha work privileges while he is serving.

Mucha was fined $500 on the drug count and issued a 90-day suspended jail sentence.

A representative for Catania Medallic has said Mucha no longer works for the company.
