Century Home Destroyed in Overnight Fire

House, built in 1854, expected to be razed.

An overnight house fire on Long Road resulted in the total loss of a century home built in the 1800s.

responded to the fire at 3583 Long Road at 12:45 a.m. May 4. Fire departments from North Ridgeville and Sheffield Village also responded.

The house, build in 1854, is expected to be razed.

The house has been unoccupied for years and is currently owned by First Federal Savings & Loan Association Of Lorain.

The house was listed for sale with Howard Hannah. According to AOL real estate, the house had four bedrooms, 2 full baths and was 2,706 sq. ft. Listed at $119,900, the description says, “Century home built in 1854 on two parcels, could be restored to it's original grandeur.”

OMG I live across the street, soooo sad for the family and there memories,great people! Fireman and police kept me up all night,but know they were just doing there jobs ! hope there was NO foul play done here! really good pictures by the neighbors !Hate to see the house gone,but thanx goodness nobody was inside at the time.
