Dispose of Old Prescriptions at Avon Police Department April 30

Operation Medicine Cabinet keeps prescription drugs out of water supply, and out of wrong hands.

Take some time to spring clean your medicine cabinet in the next few days.

If you have any unwanted or expired prescription medicines, don't throw them in the trash or flush them down the toilet. The drugs get into our water supply those ways. Getting unused prescription drugs out of the house also keeps kids safer.

From 9 a.m. t0 3 p.m. April 30, you can take the medications to the for safe disposal. Avon police are participating in Operation Medicine Cabinet, an effort by the Lorain County Sheriff's Office and the Lorain County Drug Task Force, as part of the Drug Enforcement Agency's National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

This program is completely confidential. No one will ask for personal information. Please remove labels from prescription bottles before bringing them to the police department.

Avon police department is one of 15 locations in Lorain County where prescriptions can be dropped off that day. For more information, contact the Lorain County Drug Task Force at 440-284-0615.
