Sign switched, cheerleader not amused

Last week, a caller reported that an Avon Lake cheerleader sign was taken from her Parsons Drive home and had been replaced by a “Slow Children At Play” sign. The owner wanted her sign back. Several hours later the cheerleader sign was located, but the homeowner still had the Slow Children At Play sign.

On Aug. 22, police were called by a woman who said three juveniles on bikes with backpacks were chasing deer and became confrontational with her husband when asked to stop. The juveniles were located and the situation was resolved.

A Bayview resident called police regarding a “suspicious smell the air.” It was determined the smell probably came from a gas grill after it was turned off.

Tired of the shooting

On Aug. 19 an Ashley Circle man came into the station irate saying he was tired of people “shooting over there” and left. It was initially believed to be officers firing on the range but then was believed to be fireworks at Crushers stadium.
