The following arrest information was provided by the Avon Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A man who was fired from his job at Freeman Manufacturing got attention from Avon police after his now-former employer was worried about him possibly having a gun in his car.

Police were on hand when the man was escorted from the building without incident just before 2 p.m. on April 30.

Two guns -- described by police as a Glock 27 handgun with two magazines, and a Beretta 92F handgun with three magazines -- were found in his car.

The cat, named Gigi, was brought by her owners to Avon Animal Hospital around 7 p.m. on April 30. No one had heard a shot, so police couldn't determine where the shooting had taken place.

Gigi, a black and white female cat about five years old, is recovering.
