Police Blotter: Man Helps Himself to Flashlight in Parked Car

The following information was supplied by the Avon police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A man smelling of booze was spotted going into the parked car of a Lake Drive resident and stealing a flashlight.

The car was parked in the resident’s driveway in the 37400 block of Lake Drive when the resident saw the man around 6:35 a.m. on Oct. 17. He told the man was white, in his late 40s or early 50s, wearing a gray hoodie and sweatpants, and smelled of alcohol.

A woman in the 37800 block of Colorado Avenue told police a few minutes later she saw the man walking down the driveway of a home for sale nearby. Police saw the subject go behind a home in the 2100 block of Julia Drive, but they weren’t able to find him after that.
