Severe Storms Possible for Avon, Avon Lake Tonight, Tomorrow

The National Weather Service is advising Norther Ohio of the rist of severe storms and a hazardous weather outlook tonight through Thursday morning, including Avon and Avon Lake. 

According to the forecast there is:

  • A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 4am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 69. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
  • Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 3 p.m. Some storms could be severe, with large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain. High near 71. East wind 8 to 18 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
A flood watch is in effect from 10 p.m. EDT this evening through Thursday afternoon. This hazardous weather outlook is for northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania. Please listen to NOAA weather radio or go to weather.gov on the Internet for more information about the following hazards.

There is a slight risk for severe thunderstorms tonight into early Thursday morning. The main risk will be for damaging winds and hail but there is also a small potential for a tornado to occur.
