Lorain County is under a tornado warning until 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service reports.
Residents are advised to take cover in a basement or interior room immediately.
A powerful thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was spotted five miles north of Milan at 3:39 p.m., the service reports. The storm is moving east at 45 miles per hour.
This afternoon, tornado warnings have also been issued in Cuyahoga, Portage, Stark, Geauga, Erie and Huron Counties while severe thunderstorms producing hail plummet Northeast Ohio.
