Update: 2,300 Without Power, Some May Remain In Dark Until Saturday

Windstorm knocks out power, damages home and trees. FirstEnergy reports 240,000 affected in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

FirstEnergy spokesman Mark Durbin said he estimates 2,300 Avon Lake residents are currently without power. Durbin said some residents may not have electricity until Saturday.

Earlier in the day, FirstEnergy reported 1,700 were without power. The storm created outages across Ohio and ennsylvania. FirstEnergy  reported 240,000 customers were affected by the storm. By 5 p.m., power had been restored to 185,000 customers.

In Avon Lake, numerous trees were damaged or toppled. A house on Lear Road obtained significant damage after a tree landed on the roof. No one was injured in the incident and no injuries were otherwise reported.

The number is almost identical the residents who lost power after a hit the city.
