Woman Checks Yard, 20 Minutes Later, a Deer Head Appears

A Wendell Street resident contacted Avon police on May 30 that there was a deer head in her backyard that was not there 20 minutes before. Police located what they believed were remnants of a small baby doe, partially decomposed in the back yard next to a dense wooded area. It appeared to be the result of a scavenger. The carcass was disposed of.

On May 30, a two-car accident resulted in an injury, with the alleged culprit fleeing from the accident site. A man told police silver Dodge Caravan struck him at SR 611 and Detroit Road and a passenger had been injured.

The man continued to follow the Caravan northbound on Abbe Road. The man pulled into Union Hall at Abbe and French Creek roads to await an ambulance.

The Caravan came back to a Lorain address. Lorain officers went to the home and did not locate the car that evening.
