Woman Tries to Use Parents' Handicapped Placard

She got a ticket

A woman was ticketed by Avon police after she parked in the handicapped parking at Target in Avon Commons.

Ashley Rogers was cited after she allegedly parked in a handicapped spot around 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 15. Police saw her get into the car with her baby and leave. When police pulled her over, she said her parents had a handicapped placard for the car. But since they weren't with her, police said, she wasn't authorized to use it.

Police also found there was an unpaid ticket for the same violation from 2007.
