$150,000 Bond Set for Man Accused of Killing Avon Lake Grad at Festival

Timothy Spock, 34, faces charges that he drove his vehicle into a crowd at the Dancin' in the Street event, killing one Lakewood man and injuring four others.

The Lakewood man that resulted in the death of an Avon Lake High graduate, was arraigned on a charge of aggravated vehicular homicide in Cleveland Municipal Court on Tuesday morning.

The case against Timothy Spock, 34, of Beach Parkway, was turned over to a Cuyahoga County grand jury.

His bond was set at $150,000.

He faces a second-degree felony for the crash that killed Avon Lake High School class of 2003 graduate Mitch Andelmo, and injured four others, at the on Clifton Boulevard on Sunday night.

There may be additional charges.

Spock was taken into custody after he failed sobriety tests and refused to take a breath test, according to the Plain Dealer.

Police also confiscated Spock’s 2005 Scion XB, the vehicle that plowed through the barricade and crashed into the crowd of people attending the fundraiser/street festival.

According to the Plain Dealer, Spock was immediately arrested, and taken to after police obtained a search warrant to have his blood drawn for an alcohol test.

This isn’t his first run-in with the law. 

Spock was charged June 9 in Lakewood with disorderly conduct while intoxicated and fined $240. He was convicted in in 2009 of child endangering while intoxicated and sentenced to a year of probation.
