ALMU Board Member Hessel Takes Oath of Office
New board member will fill Charles D. Whitmer's seat.
Ian B. Hessel was sworn in as a member of the Avon Lake Board of Municipal Utilities at the board's Nov. 19 meeting.
Hessel was appointed to fill the position vacated by Charles D. Whitmer, who retired after serving 17 years on the board. Hessel will serve as alternate representative to the Board’s Employee Committee and board liaison to the City Human Resources Committee.
An experienced senior finance and operations executive, Hessel is the owner of Hessel Solutions Inc., a firm providing on demand executives and major purchase financial negotiation services to companies seeking supplemental staff to complete projects or fill temporary positions during transition periods.

Avon Lake Municipal Utilities five board members are elected to serve four-year terms in the city’s general election. Hessel’s term expires Dec. 31, 2015.
